Boulder High School is proud to offer The Boulder Arts Focus Pathway! This is an exciting program for students who have a passion for the visual and performing arts to earn an endorsement on their diploma for completing courses in the arts, mentoring with local artists and making art an integral part of their lives. Colleges, universities and employers will recognize the creative problem solving, innovative ideas, and collaboration of this select group of emerging student visual and performing artists.
Mission: The mission of the Boulder High School Arts Focus Pathway (BAFP) is to provide a comprehensive education in the visual arts and performing arts; which will enable students to succeed in the diverse global societies of the 21st century.
Rationale: Boulder High School firmly believes the visual arts and performing arts strengthen cognitive and emotional development as students learn to be creative, collaborative, critical thinkers who are globally aware, and lifelong advocates for the arts with sophisticated senses of visual literacy. BAFP students acquire a strong appreciation of art and skills to decipher, evaluate and comprehend meaning in our contemporary world. Visual and Performing Arts graduates will leave BAFP with a strong portfolio and will be prepared for a career in the visual and/or performing arts. Gifted and talented visual and performing artists will be challenged to develop to their highest potential during their high school years. Current technologies will be utilized to create art. We seek to graduate visual and performing art students in the 21st Century who have the knowledge, skills and personal characteristics that will make this world a safer, more thoughtful and more inclusive place in which to live. Not only the Boulder Arts Focus Pathway students, but also all BHS students will benefit from the increased opportunities of the BAFP.

"The Arts Focus Program has been amazing. Pottery is one of the two things that made high school bearable for me! All of the teachers are so great, and they really care about the students" ~ Emma Vigers
