The ‘Judy Chicago Project’
Judy Chicago is an American feminist artist- who’s work in clay, sculpture, fiber arts, painting and even pyrotechnics are known world wide. Chicago’s most famous piece, ‘The Dinner Party’ pays tribute to women throughout history who have contributed to our lives with the creation of a ceramic dinner set for each woman represented. This artwork by Judy Chicago is shown at The Brooklyn Museum in New York City.
After learning about Judy Chicago, advanced Pottery students from Boulder High School created their own dinnerware set, choosing an artist that they particularly admire to represent, whom they feel has had a positive impact on society as well. Judy Chicago: “Once I knew that I wanted to be an artist, I had made myself into one”
